Algeria national football team

The Algeria national football team represents the country internationally in various competitions and matches. Its activities are coordinated by the Algerian Football Federation.

As of April 4, 2024, the national team is ranked 43rd in the FIFA World Rankings.

It is interesting to note that the majority of the team's current players were born and began their football careers in France. Most of them never played for clubs in Algeria. Notable among these players are Faouzi Ghoulam, Sofiane Feghouli, Hassan Yebda, Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani, and Safir Taider. These players had experience with the French youth and junior national teams before deciding to play for their ancestral homeland.
