Ye (born Kanye Omari West) is an American rapper, producer, songwriter, audio engineer, designer, and former billionaire. He is best known by his stage name Kanye West. He spent his childhood and youth in Chicago, where he developed an early interest in music.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made a name for himself as a music producer, working with artists such as Jay-Z, Ludacris, Talib Kweli, and Alicia Keys. After dropping out of college to pursue a career in music, he focused on rap and released his debut album, The College Dropout, in 2004. He is among the most successful artists in terms of sales, with albums and singles selling over 121 million copies worldwide. He has won 24 Grammy Awards, making him one of the most decorated musicians and a record-breaking hip-hop artist.
